2026 Advent Calendar Design
2026 Advent Calendar artwork illustrated by Denise from The Pretty Pink Studio
Meet the Artist
For our 2026 Advent Calendar, we partnered with Denise, the illustrator behind The Pretty Pink Studio, and if the name didn’t already give it away, this year got a whole lot pinker.
Denise’s playful, colourful style felt right at home on our calendar. Her artwork mixes cozy holiday nostalgia with the wonderfully unexpected, filling each cube with little details inspired by winter, family traditions, and the things that make the season feel special at home. The result is warm, whimsical, VERY pink, and full of personality. Basically, Christmas through a pair of rose-coloured glasses.
The Creative Vibe
Denise looked close to home for inspiration, pulling from the things that make the holidays feel warm and cozy in her own world, along with plenty of nostalgic winter moments.
That turned into gingerbread people, fuzzy slippers, presents, hot chocolate, snowy cabins, skating, a camper carrying home its Christmas tree, and, naturally, multiple dachshunds. It’s playful and nostalgic without taking Christmas too seriously, with Denise’s signature pink palette tying the whole wonderfully cozy scene together.
Q&A With Denise
- Q: What’s the most “you” candy (the one that best matches your personality)?
A: Nerds, because my husband calls me a nerd all the time lol - Q: Was there a particular design or element that was your favourite to create? Why?
A: I loved drawing the dachshunds. They’re so unexpected. My little one is obsessed with dogs right now, so I knew I had to include them. - Q: How would you describe your artistic style in three words?
A: Playful, colourful, whimsical

Advent Throughout The Years
2025 Advent Calendar Design
Tara’s designs were inspired by the quieter, cozier side of the holidays. Think warm mugs, winter rituals, familiar traditions, and those little moments that make December feel like December. Her goal was to create artwork that felt joyful and approachable, meant to be enjoyed one day at a time.
2024 Advent Calendar Design
Michelle’s playful style brought a whimsical energy. Blending bold numbers with charming illustrated characters (including her late pup Presley) throughout the design. It is the kind of artwork that makes you pause for a second look because there is always another little detail waiting to be discovered.
2023 Advent Calendar Design
When sticker print deadlines suddenly became very real, Kyla stepped in with a streamlined winter design created the night before production. Simple, cozy, and a little scrappy in the best way. A reminder that sometimes creativity works best under pressure, and a fun pattern goes a long way!
2022 Advent Calendar Design
A playful twist to the season by wrapping each cube in a digital holiday sweater pattern. Inspired by the cozy nostalgia of winter knits and festive traditions, the pattern added a warm and cheerful feel to the countdown. It felt fun, familiar, and perfectly at home in the middle of the holiday season.
2021 Advent Calendar Design
Our 2021 calendar featured a cheerful holiday icon pattern with bells, gifts, stars, and all the little symbols that make December feel like December. Bright, festive, and full of classic holiday charm, the design leaned into the season's joyful side. Each cube felt like a tiny celebration waiting to be opened.
2020 Advent Calendar Design
Our first Advent Calendar design kept things simple and iconic with Sugar Cube purple and countdown numbers leading the way. It was a clean design that let the excitement of the countdown speak for itself. A humble beginning for what would become one of our favourite holiday traditions.
Curious About Our Advent Calendars?
Our Advent Calendars are designed as an experience, not just a countdown. Each year brings new flavours, thoughtful details, and creative collaborations that make opening all 25 days feel a little more special, creating the kind of holiday tradition Canadians didn’t know they needed but quickly fell in love with.
Inside each Sugar Cube Advent Calendar, you’ll find a daily candy surprise featuring a rotating mix of sweet, sour, nostalgic, and hard-to-find favourites. Designed and packed in Canada, our candy advent calendars have become a holiday tradition for families, candy lovers, and gift givers across the country who want something a little more fun than the typical chocolate countdown.
Whether you’re discovering us for the first time or counting down with us again this year, our Advent Calendars are all about creating small moments of joy throughout the holiday season.
